1932 - 43 | Teaching post in Ashton-under-Lyne College Married Christine Glover 3rd June 1933. One child - John - born August 1937. Lived 142 Albemarle Terrace and later at 21 Firs Avenue, Ashton-under-Lyne. FCD not in the forces during the war - had TB which ruled him unfit. | |

1963 - 92 | Retired from the college and they moved to Goring-on Thames. Lived at 92 Elvendon Road, Goring until his death. He and his wife shared the house with their son John, who worked in London. Had a boat on the Thames; very involved with the local history society. His wife, Christine, died in March 1982 and their son John died in July 2010 . |
